Diageo announced a similar policy for its staff in the UK last month.

It says that parents in the UK are eligible for the fully paid 26 weeks regardless of gender and sexual orientation. Employees who adopt a child have the same benefits.

Diaryo & # 39; s chief human resource officer Mairéad Nayager said the policy ensures that women and men get the time with their new babies regardless of where they live and work.

"We are determined to create a fully inclusive and diverse workforce and we believe that companies play an important role in shaping the future of society," she said.

& # 39; Global companies such as Diageo must take bold steps in the policies and environment in which their employees work to ensure that the progress that people deserve is made. & # 39;
