Farrah Fawcett died on June 25, 2009 at age 62 after a long and painful battle with cancer.

On the 15th anniversary of her death, friends took to social media to pay tribute to the blonde bombshell.

Farrah’s close friend Alana Stewart, who was previously married to rocker Rod Stewart, shared old photos of Farrah on Instagram with a touching note.

“Remembering Farrah… Today marks 15 years since her death with some of her best-known photos and others not so much. Rest in peace, my sweet sister. I think of you every day. #iconic,” wrote Melanie Griffith while I gave it a “like.”

His Charlie’s Angels co-star Jaclyn Smith shared an old clip from her popular TV show.

Smith spoke with People in 2019 about the last time she saw her 40-year-old friend.

“She was in pain and couldn’t sit still,” the brunette beauty said. “I was rubbing her feet, trying to make her feel better. And that relaxed her. We must have talked for three hours about our lives, about our kids, about growing up in Texas. The time I spent with Farrah at the end was the best because we appreciated the friendship”.

Smith also said Farrah was “relentless in her fight.”

Fawcett filmed his fight against cancer for a documentary, even showing his bald head after chemotherapy and radiation. And he burst into tears when the ear tumors returned to his liver.

‘Who would have dreamed that this girl known for smile, hair and glamor would open the depths of her soul to share with the world?’ Smith told People.

The Texas viewer, who was married to Lee Majors and had a long relationship with Ryan O’Neal, who died in December 2023, launched the Farrah Fawcett Foundation to raise funds for research and education.

When Farrah first told Jaclyn that she had cancer, she said she was shocked by the diagnosis.

“She said, ‘I always thought I might have breast cancer or heart disease, but never this,’ and started crying,” Smith said. “I never saw her cry again after that.”

And their friendship was real: “What I remember about Farrah is that, as brilliant as she was, she was the friend who encouraged me, the girl who loved her parents, the girl on the street.

‘Together we share the ups and downs of life, the happiness and the sadness. I miss her every day. A lot of people are gone now and that’s hard. “I miss them and it’s okay to miss them.”

Smith also referred to the years he made Charlie’s Angels with Fawcett.

He said the two, as well as their co-star Kate Jackson, supported each other on set.

“It was like a dorm, eating together in our RVs,” Jaclyn said.

‘Sometimes we would go shopping on the weekends for what we were going to wear. We were not just working actresses, but girlfriends and it was like that for 40 years.’

Most people think Farrah was on Charlie’s Angels for all five years, but she actually left the show after the first season to pursue dramatic work.
