Charlie Kaufman to Receive Sarajevo Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award

Oscar-winning writer-director Charlie Kaufmann, author of Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Eternal glow of the mind without memories and writer/director of anomaly and I’m thinking of ending things will receive the 2023 Sarejevo Film Festival’s lifetime achievement honor, the Heart of Sarejevo Award.

In Kaufmann’s honor, the festival will also screen Spike Jonze’s 2003 comedy-drama. Adaptation, for which Jonze wrote the Oscar-nominated screenplay. This will be Kaufman’s second visit to the Serbian festival. He was invited to the 14th Sarajevo Film Festival in 2008, where he presented his directorial debut, Synecdoche, New York.

The 29th Sarajevo Film Festival will take place from August 11 to 18.
