Charli XCX has missed out on a spot in Spotify Wrapped’s Top 10 Artists of the Year despite the viral success of her album Brat.
The singer, 32, was defeated by Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Billie Eilish, with the Cruel Summer singer dominating for the second year in a row.
Charli’s hyperpop-electronic album debuted as the “most critically acclaimed album of the year,” beating out Beyoncé’s latest album, Cowboy Carter, and Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.
This sparked a nationwide trend called ‘Brat Summer,’ which Charli described as a ‘girl who’s a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes.’
He also described a ‘snotty girl’ as someone who ‘has a pack of cigarettes, a (lighter) and wears a strappy white blouse with no bra.’
But despite the impact her latest album had on global music and culture (she was even part of Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign), the star hasn’t been able to translate that into Spotify streams.

Every year, the music streaming service debuts its personalized user experience, providing a breakdown of what each person has listened to and which artist, genre or song has been their favorite.
Instead, artists like Drake, Travis Scott and Kanye West ranked among the top ten most streamed artists worldwide.
Charli released a string of hits including 365 and Apple, which were accompanied by viral dances on TikTok, as well as a follow-up album of remixes with guests including Billie Eilish, with whom she collaborated on Guess.
But none of his greatest hits managed to appear on the list either.
Instead, Sabrina Carpenter took first place with her catchy song Espresso and was closely followed by Benson Boone’s smash hit Beautiful Things.
Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather also made the cut among the most viral songs along with Good Luck, Babe! by rising star Chappell Roan.
Irish star Hozier’s Too Sweet took seventh place, while Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s surprise duo Die With A Smile took tenth place.
And while critics praised Charli’s exciting new album, she failed to beat pop sensation Taylor Swift, who dominated Spotify Wrapped’s most streamed albums with The Tortured Poet’s Department in first place, followed by 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in sixth place and Lover in position. at eight.

The Fancy singer has divided critics and fans alike and, despite making waves on social media, has struggled to translate that into impressive statistics.
This became evident during her performance on SNL last month, which fans criticized after hearing her use auto-tune.
Taylor also took sixth and eighth place with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Lover.

Viewers quickly flocked to the comments section on SNL’s YouTube to voice their opinions about Charli XCX.
They wrote, “This is definitely not a song for the SNL stage,” user @_gokceada admitted.
‘And people say his voice sucks, it’s just the style of the song. He has a lot of songs that show he can sing, but 360 is a fun song, and there are strong, emotional ones on Brat and his previous albums.’
User @a1d4nnn agreed: “Yeah, I like 360, but it’s definitely not an SNL song.”
And fan frustration meant the star generated the smallest audience for the comedy show to date, attracting just 4.29 million viewers – the lowest figure since Jake Gyllenhaal hosted it six months earlier.

Drake took fourth place and was followed by Billie Eilish and Travis Scott in fifth and sixth place.
The Mexican Featherweight superstar came in seventh on the global top 10 list, followed by Kanye West, Ariana Grande and Colombian singer Feid in last place.
The second most streamed album was Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, followed by Taylor’s triumph.
In third place on the list was Short n’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter, followed by TOMORROW WILL BE PRETTY by KAROL G and eternal light by Ariana Grande.
Seventh place went to SOS by SZA. Benson Boone’s Fireworks & Rollerblades arrived at nine.
The Weeknd’s Starboy took last place.
