Charley Hull has lifted the lid on a golf fan’s hilarious attempt to flirt with her after she went viral for smoking a cigarette on the course.
The world number 8 was filmed signing autographs with a lit cigarette in her mouth earlier this week at Lancaster Country Club. The clip quickly flooded social media and even drew comparisons to John Daly.
Hull admitted she enjoyed the added circus, but the British player remains a little baffled as to why the video caused such a stir online.
“It’s actually pretty funny,” he said. -Don’t know. I guess for a cigarette.
‘But I was actually walking to the shooting range and I had my hands full. Someone asked me for an autograph and I’m not going to say no because I always like to sign autographs for them.

“I had a cigarette in my mouth, I signed it and then it went viral. I don’t know. It’s just one of those things. It’s been crazy.
One follower decided to take a shot at Hull and found a sneaky way to give her his number in an effort to take her on a date.
“Fans have been screaming my names this week,” he continued. ‘Someone said I dropped something and then handed me his phone number on a piece of paper he had in his hand.
“I thought it was so funny, it was like, ‘Here’s my number, text me so we can find out where I’m taking you to dinner tonight.’
Unfortunately, the man’s efforts went unrewarded. ‘Obviously, I never texted them. But it was a lot of fun,” Hull added. “It’s been a bit of a wild, pretty cool week and I wish the crowd was like that more often.”
“I had a cigarette in my mouth and I signed it and then it went viral,” Hull said of the clip.
Hull, 28, has won twice on the LPGA Tour and three times on the Ladies European Tour.
