Charles Oliveira has called for another title shot after shocking Beneil Darius with a first-round knockout at UFC 289.
The 33-year-old ended Darius’ winning streak with a dominating performance as the referee stopped the proceedings after just over four minutes into the first round.
He never seemed to struggle and took control early on, kicking his opponent in the head early on.
Darius recovered, but it was only a matter of time until the fight was over and Oliveira’s hand was up.
He could now face lightweight champion Islam Makhachev again after losing his title when he missed weight before their first meeting.

Oliveira, meanwhile, called Makhachev after the fight saying, “Do you want me to fight him in his house? I go. I’m ready.’
UFC President Dana White said the rematch ‘made a lot of sense’, while Makhachev himself tweeted: ‘Congratulations Charles. But still there are levels to this game.’
