Charlamagne Tha God makes a screeching U-turn on whether Donald Trump is a fascist

Charlamagne Tha God is reconsidering his view that Donald Trump is a fascist after expressing his frustration with Democrats since the election.

The radio host, whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey, has been one of Trump’s loudest critics, but recently also began lashing out at his opponents.

Despite reconsidering how much he dislikes Trump, he said he still wouldn’t change his vote for Kamala Harris if he could.

Charlamagne said on his Brilliant Idiots podcast that he was disappointed with the way the Democratic Party responded to the loss and its actions since.

“I have never called Donald Trump a fascist based on what I have heard from Democrats. “I said that because of things I heard coming from Donald Trump,” he said.

“But guess what? I don’t even know if I believe it anymore, but just because of the way they act. I’m like, damn, maybe it’s not that big of a threat.’

The rethinking of his position appeared to be due to the fact that the White House and other Democrats had backed off their attacks on Trump after the election and promised an orderly transition, something he previously complained about.

“Do you find it strange that now that he has won, they don’t call him a threat to democracy, they don’t call him a fascist,” he said days after the election.

“On Monday they just called him that, and I think if you really believed that, someone’s speech would be about how America has fared and how things are really bad.

“It just makes you wonder how much they actually believed in it? And how much was just political.”

His anger did not appear to extend to the vice president, whom he called a friend and supported for years.

‘That doesn’t change my vote, by the way. “I still would have voted for the vice president,” he said.

He repeatedly chastised Biden for offering his son Hunter a blanket pardon not just because of his firearms and tax fraud convictions, in an apparent effort to protect him from political retaliation by Trump.

“Hunter was singled out for breaking the law. That’s number one. He was singled out because he was accused of illegal weapons and tax evasion, and not because he was the president’s son,” Charlamagne argued.

“And it also shows me that elected officials can do whatever they want, as long as they have the political will and courage to do it.”

On another show, he claimed that Biden’s blanket pardon gave the impression that Hunter was guilty of something else we weren’t yet aware of.

Charlamagne was also dissatisfied with Biden’s cordial meeting with Trump after the election, especially with the president telling him “welcome back.”

“I’m glad it’s a peaceful transfer of power, but whatever happened to the ‘threat to democracy’ talk? What happened to the ‘fascist’ talk?’ he said.

“I’m just trying to figure out how you go from ‘he’s an existential threat to democracy’ to ‘welcome back.’

“He (Biden) was happy too. He was smiling, he was grinning, he was chewing.”

Other times, he accused Biden of “quietly giving up” the presidency after the election and took issue with Obama laughing with Trump at Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
