Chappell Roan is a rapidly rising star in the music industry.

The 26-year-old “Good Luck, Babe” singer — who recently called her stardom “a wildfire” — received praise Sunday for her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which reached an impressive number two on the Billboard 200, nearly a year after its release.

Songs from the critically acclaimed album include viral hits such as Femininomenon, HOT TO GO! and Red Wine Supernova, which continue to climb charts around the world.

She is nominated for Best New Artist at the VMAs and will take the awards show stage for a televised performance.

The Willard, Missouri native rose to fame after rocking the stage as the opening act for Olivia Rodrigo for her GUTS World Tour in 2024; she also opened her Sour World Tour in 2022.

The songwriter, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, released her EP School Nights in 2017 on Atlanta Records. Three years later, she released the song Pink Pony Club in 2020.

Last year in September, she released her debut studio album, The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess, under Island Records.

As she became more popular, her LP appeared on several charts around the world and peaked at number 5 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

She is currently the 74th most listened to artist in the world according to Spotify and has almost 40 million monthly listeners on the platform.

Chappell’s debut album, which peaked at number two on the Billboard charts, comes just days after the “Casual” singer opened up about dealing with her newfound fame and attention on The comments section podcast.

“People have started acting weird, following me and knowing where my parents live and where my sister works,” she told host Drew Afualo. “All this weird stuff.”

Roan, who is known as the Madonna of Generation Z, explained that she had made a promise to herself that she would stop making music if fans gave her “stalker vibes” or made her family feel like they were in any “danger.”

“And there we are, there we are,” the My Kink is Karma singer said. “So I’m kind of in a battle, I’ve been putting the brakes on anything I can to make myself more known.”

The After Midnight singer admitted: “It’s like a wildfire at the moment. I’m not trying to do a bunch of nonsense.”

However, she also spoke about the positive side of fame, such as being recognized by stars she has admired for years. “The people I’ve admired my whole life are like my peers, which is great.”

She also recalled: ‘Miley (Cyrus) invited me to a party and I said to her: ‘You don’t know that you were my first concert when the Jonas Brothers were opening for me.’
