A man was killed by a train at a station in South Sydney.
The man was hit by the train at 2.50 on Wednesday afternoon. Emergency services arrived at the scene after witnesses reported that someone had been beaten at the Riverwood station.
In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, police said they were "trying to determine why the man was in the rail corridor."
The incident is not believed to be related to self-harm.
A crime scene has been installed at the station and the San Jorge police are investigating.
Death is wreaking havoc on rush hour trips, with Sydney trains warning travelers that they expect delays.
There will be entertainment for services in the city, while Revesby services will now begin and end at Kingsgrove.
