Hundreds of commuters are facing long delays during peak hours after a child was found injured on train tracks in Sydney’s west.
The 13-year-old boy was found on the train tracks at Homebush station at around 5.30pm on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the boy was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Police are known to have found the boy on the train tracks.

There were delays on T1 North Shore and Western Line and buses were also affected.
The disruption also affected train services on the T2 Inner West and Leppington lines, as well as the T3 Bankstown, T8 Airport and T9 Northern lines.
Passengers have also been warned that they may experience delays on services to the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Newcastle.
Services were back up and running within an hour, although a police operation was underway at the station.

“Passengers are still advised to allow extra travel time on some train services following reports of a person being seen near the tracks between Homebush and Flemington earlier in the day,” they said in a statement.
‘Passengers are advised to listen to announcements and check information screens as train stopping patterns may change and some trains may use different platforms.’

Earlier, some passengers on the T1 North Shore line said train services had been suspended until further notice.
Some services to Lidcombe have been cancelled on the T3 Bankstown line.
