Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., was in the front row at the rally along with Reps. Mike Kelly and Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick.

Meuser said he heard eight to 10 gunshots as screams spread through the crowd, according to Fox News.

He added that it appeared there were several people in the crowd who may have been hit by bullets.

House Speaker Mike Johnson wrote on X: ‘Praying for President Trump.’

The Secret Service cleared the area after the former president was quickly escorted off the stage after the shooting ended.

The security team issued a statement shortly after the incident saying that “the former president is safe.”

“Karen and I are praying for President Trump and we urge all Americans to join us,” said Trump’s former vice president, Mike Pence.

“Shots fired at Trump rally. We are praying for President Trump, his family, and our entire nation,” Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody wrote on X.
