Kendall Gilding has given an update on her husband Timothy’s health after he broke his back in a shocking beach accident.

The former Channel Seven star, 32, revealed on Tuesday that Tim was seriously injured after being thrown by a strong wave onto a sandbank at Burleigh Beach in Queensland.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital in a neck brace and doctors initially feared he would never walk again, with Kendall documenting his recovery on social media.

Now, Kendall has provided an update on her husband’s health when she took to TikTok on Wednesday to share a video from Tim’s hospital bed.

She shared her relief that Tim will make a full recovery and be able to walk again, but did not confirm how much longer he will remain in the hospital.

“It’s been a strange and stressful time, but everything will be okay,” Kendall shared.

‘Praise the Lord that he can walk because many people who come here with these types of injuries don’t come out and he will walk and live a normal life once his bones heal.’

Kendall also revealed that Tim couldn’t shower or sit up for days and had to be given sponge baths because he had to lie still.

‘Let’s talk about fun things, Tim hates sand, he hates it with a passion. How can I get the family to go on a beach vacation every year because he hates sand so much?

He brought most of Burleigh Beach with him to the hospital. When I entered the emergency room, you could follow a sandy path to his bed.

‘He had a bed covered in sand, he couldn’t shower for days, sit, stand or stand upright. He took a few sponge baths.

Kendall continued to thank her fans for their support while talking about some of the challenges she faced while Tim was in the hospital.

She spoke about how difficult it has been to combine being with Tim in the hospital with caring for her two children: her daughter Olive, four years old, and her son Moses, one year old.

“The big challenge is really the fact that he’s at Gold Coast University Hospital and we live in Brisbane,” he shared.

‘We have two small children and we have to get here. I know everyone already knows this, but the M1 is horrible.

‘If there was no traffic, door to door from here to our house is an hour. It almost always takes me an hour 40, no matter what time of day I go, and it could be more than that.

“Taking care of the kids is a big challenge, just finding somewhere to go every day and for them to feel loved and cared for so we can focus on Tim during the day.”

Kendall also revealed that they had to cancel plans for Tim’s birthday this weekend, as well as their Christmas celebrations, due to his hospitalization.

She admitted she hasn’t had a chance to do Christmas shopping for her two children yet and said she hopes they will “forgive her.”

“We’ll get presents under the tree, but it’s a strange time of year for something like this to happen,” he continued.

‘The blessing is that we don’t have to commute to work, but the downside is that it doesn’t feel like Christmas anymore.

Kendall, who quit Channel Seven after 12 years in December 2023, also told how difficult it has been not to work now that she is self-employed.

“Obviously I’m self-employed now, so if I don’t work, I don’t get paid,” he said.

“I don’t sell a product, I am the product, so if I can’t physically show up anywhere, we don’t get any income from me.”

Her update comes just one day after Kendall revealed the extent of Tim’s injuries following his shocking swimming accident during their annual beach vacation.

‘A heartbreaking end to our annual holiday. Or should I say break your back? Maybe it’s too early for jokes? Kendall shared in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

‘At the weekend we went to Burleigh beach for a last swim. A quick 10 minute adventure. That’s all.

‘Tim was seriously swept away by a wave and fell headlong onto a sandbank. What happened next was equally traumatic when he began to faint on the beach. Grateful to the lifeguards!

‘If anyone knows the name of Burleigh’s chief lifeguard, please let me know. He is also a qualified paramedic. I want to thank you personally!’

‘Many people with these types of injuries never walk again. Praise God, Tim will be fine and will recover in time!

‘Christmas, the school holidays and the year 2025 suddenly look very different, but we have a beautiful town coming together to support us!’
