The much-hyped dating series was originally scheduled to launch before the end of 2024.

But Seven bosses have now confirmed the quirky format won’t make its debut until next year.

Industry Blog TV tonight reported that the program, made by the producers of Married At First Sight, was to air between October 1 and December 31.

Hosted by sportsman Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and based on a Danish format, the series focuses on half a dozen strangers looking for love.

And in a strange twist, matched singles can test their compatibility after getting stranded on a desert island.

Couples discover romantic sparks amid grueling hardships as they struggle to survive harsh living conditions and isolation.

As anticipation builds for its release, it has been claimed that the show could be Aussie TV’s next big thing.

According to a source, the premiere of the new series was delayed because the network “invested” even more money in producing it.

talking to Yahoo Australiathe source suggested the extra money was to compete with Channel Nine’s big TV hits such as MAFS and The Block.

The source also suggested that producers spent cash to secure radio icon Jackie O as the show’s narrator.

A steamy trailer for the upcoming show featured the twelve singles hoping to find love while marooned on a remote island in the South Pacific.

The video promises an equal mix of romance and adventure, as the cast works to form romances while battling the elements.

One scene shows the new bride and groom literally jumping off a yacht into the crystal-clear water and then kissing passionately underwater.

Another cliffhanger captured a woman confronting her male partner, asking him why he “is in a relationship outside of this.”

‘Are we on Honeymoon Island… or Nightmare Island?’ another cast member asked.

The format appears to be a mix of Married At First Sight and the cut-throat world of the Survivor franchise.

Seven’s head of programming Angus Ross said of the show: “We’re taking the reality dating genre to a whole new addictive level.”
