Channel Nine TV legend Ken Sutcliffe lashes out at child’s ex Trent Lynch for spreading rumours
Channel Nine legend Ken Sutcliffe has slammed malicious rumors spread by his son’s ex-boyfriend after the jilted lover was accused of stalking and harassment.
Trent Lynch, 53, is accused of using a carriage service to “threaten, harass and/or offend” the retired prominent presenter’s only son, Scott, 42, for four months, from November to February.
Lynch is also accused of harassing his former partner on Valentine’s Day, “with the intent to cause fear of physical or mental harm,” according to court documents.
Sutcliffe Jr and Lynch are said to have been together for 17 years before their recent breakup. Lynch claims that she was an intrinsic part of the Sutcliffe family.
But now he has threatened to blow the cover on explosive gossip, which is unsubstantiated and therefore cannot be published for legal reasons, and offers to sell information to the media.
On Friday, former sportscaster Ken, who appeared regularly on television screens for 34 years until he retired in 2016, responded to defamatory claims about his family.

“I don’t care what this man says,” the 75-year-old father of three told Daily Mail Australia. He is under arrest.
He’s been charged and was arrested the other day for threatening our lives. That’s all.’
He added: ‘This is a private matter between my son and him.

Obviously, the police have told him that he has to behave. She will appear in court in another three weeks.

Lynch was indicted on February 20 and will face court on March 7 in connection with the harassment allegations. Both of his court attendance notices list him as female without further explanation.
Police are also taking an apprehended violence order on behalf of Scott Sutcliffe against Lynch, who lives in Rushcutters Bay in eastern Sydney, which includes standard conditions that he does not stalk or harass him.
Lynch is not accused of intimidating the rest of the Sutcliffe family.

Ken was nicknamed The Male Model of Mudgee in his ’80s heyday after beginning his career in the wine country town, but he was actually born 180km away in Oberon.
Ken retired from Channel Nine after a 50-year television career in 2016. He retired after a final season reading the sports headlines in the Sydney newsroom with presenter Peter Overton.
“His warmth, friendship, bright smile and laugh will be missed, as will the millions who have come to know Ken so well over the decades through his televisions.” Ken is a gold-plated Australian television legend,” Overton said at the time.
Ken’s son Scott is also believed to now live in Mudgee after recently moving from Sydney.

On Friday, a NSW Police Force spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia of the allegations against Lynch: “A 53-year-old man has been charged with the alleged harassment of a 42-year-old man.
“Earlier this month, officers with the Orana Midwest Police District received a report that the older man had been sending numerous messages to the younger man over a period of several months.
‘About 9:30pm on Monday 20th February 2023 police went to an address in Rushcutters Bay where they arrested a 53 year old man.
“He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with stalking/intimidating with the intent to fear bodily harm etc (personal) and using the transport service to threaten/harass/offend.”
Lynch has been granted probation and is due to appear in Downing Center Local Court on Tuesday, March 7.
