Channel Nine address Scott Cam’s future at The Block following claims he is ‘ready to leave’ the series
Channel Nine have addressed claims that Scott Cam is preparing to leave The Block at the end of season 19 this year.
An informant said yahoo! Lifestyle over the weekend, the beloved host was planning to leave the renovation giant after 13 years at the helm.
A Nine spokesperson denied the claims on Monday night, saying: “The report is not true.”
The statement comes after the 60-year-old builder-turned-reality-host is apparently nearing the end of his contract at Nine and plans to pack up his tool kit for good later this year.
“Scotty Cam’s contract is up and it is believed that he will not sign any more after this,” a source said. yahoo! Lifestyle.

The source also claimed that Cam is likely to be replaced by a former The Block contestant when he finally steps down.
“Audiences don’t like change, especially when it comes to replacing the host, so relying on contestants with familiar faces to make up for the absence makes sense.”
Channel Nine have been contacted for comment on their star’s decision to walk away from the show.
The startling claims come after this year’s season of The Block wrapped filming on Charming Street in Hampton East in Melbourne.
After a great build year capped off by a controversial auction last season, the upcoming lineup of contestants can expect even tougher competition.
With $100,000 prize money at stake, contestants will be put to the test as they will be tasked with building a self-contained granny apartment in addition to the family homes.
In 2022, winners Omar and Oz walked away with $1,686,666.66, the largest win in the show’s history.
Meanwhile, Cam is gearing up to attend the TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday after being nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Host.
Compete for the gong against Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Shaun Micallef, Sonia Kruger and Tony Armstrong.
The Block has also been nominated for Most Popular Reality Show and Most Outstanding Reality Show.
Cam’s work on The Block has already seen him win a number of accolades, including the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter and the coveted Gold Logie for Most Popular Australian TV Personality in 2014.
