On the talent show, TV favorite Claudia Winkleman invites talented amateur pianists to perform live at some of the country’s busiest train stations.
But as soon as the artists start, they unconsciously enter a new competition, which is judged by renowned pianist Lang Lang and pop star Mika.
The lucky pianists chosen are invited to perform before a concert of thousands of people at the grand finale of the show.
When Gogglebox fans tune in to Channel 4 tonight, they will hear a piano medley arrangement of Perfect World for the first time, thanks to the playing of Kodaline frontman Steve Garrigan.
Other series being reorganized to celebrate The Piano include Channel 4 News’ theme song Best Endeavors, which will see the new tune produced by Phase Music and Universal Production Music air in the new Sunday bulletin at 6.30pm.
The much-loved Countdown theme will see a classic makeover by Steve Holness and Pascal Wyse from Monday 29th May to Friday 3rd May.
It follows Come Dine With Me: The Professional, the upcoming series with a new piano version by Patrick Duffin, only in episodes airing Monday, May 6 to Friday, May 10.
Channel 4 chief content officer Ian Katz said: “The Piano is one of the rarest things, a TV show that makes people feel better about the world after watching it than before.”
