The book is called If Queers Weren’t Meant To Have Kids and Narelda took to Instagram, also on Thursday, to share UQP’s announcement about the upcoming book.
The statement said the book contains “a series of double-page spreads that begin with the question ‘if homosexuals were not destined to have children.’
‘Answers include: ‘why lesbians nest after a week’ and ‘why attractive gays are called daddies.’
Narelda and Karina added in the statement that they were not going to allow ‘homophobes’ to steal their ‘baby joy’.
“Like all future gay parents, we are prepared for a homophobic backlash, but there is no way for the naysayers to ruin the joy of our baby,” they said.
‘So we’ve come up with a plan to show how natural it is for gay people to have children. Our picture book for adults is a celebration of love and chosen family.’
The couple tied the knot in a fun-filled ceremony in Sydney in early August, just 18 months after their first date.
