A pet owner was left devastated after her dog was hit and killed by a car while at the grooming salon.

Chanelle Sarandis brought her six-year-old cavoodle Luna and her second dog, Billy, to a haircut at Victoria’s salon on May 11.

Ms Sarandis revealed in a devastating TikTok video that she had received a call hours later informing her that Luna had been in a terrible accident.

“I had to pick up my dog ​​Billy, who was at the same groomer as her (Luna) and the only thing I could take home that day was a leash and his collar,” she said.

Luna had been placed in a lead-free pen after getting a cut.

He then managed to escape while staff returned another dog to its owner at the door.

A boy opened the front door of the hair salon business and Luna managed to get out and run onto the road.

Luna was rushed to the vet, but the beloved dog could not be saved.

“My partner and some of our family went to the vet and said goodbye to Luna,” Ms Sarandis said. yahoo.

Sarandis said she was devastated by the loss and never imagined her Luna would meet such a grim end at the salon.

“We miss Luna so much she shouldn’t have died like this,” he said.

“I am overwhelmed, shocked, anxious and distraught to the point of almost vomiting. I have cried so much I couldn’t see.

And, above all, with a broken heart. I miss my little girl, I’m taking it day by day and crying. I’m also very scared and stressed when I have to take Billy to get him fixed, but I’ll have to make sure there are safety procedures in place.’

Sarandis urged groomers to implement stricter safety measures to ensure dogs do not leave their pens.

‘Groomers really need to have things ready so the dogs don’t come off. We are suffering a lot,’ she said.

‘I feel like this definitely could have been avoided. I think if Luna hadn’t gone to this hair salon she would still be alive.’
