Chaka Khan SLAMS Adele, Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige

Chaka Khan has hit the ‘blind bat b***es’ that put her at number 29 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 greatest singers of all time.

Issued on New Year’s Day, the list with bold names like Beyoncé, Adele and Mariah Carey ahead of Chaka.

Appears on the Los Angeles Magazine podcast The originalsChaka, 69, claimed never to have heard of the list before the host mentioned it.

When she was told Adele was ahead of her, Chaka growled, “Okay, I’ll stop,” and when she heard Mariah was number 5, she said, “That must be payola or something.”

When Chaka heard that Mary J. Blige was ranked ahead of her, he burst out, “These b****es are blind as a motherfucker! They need hearing aids. Don’t they have hearing aids? They have no eyes. They have no ears. They must have a – these b****es, you know what? These must be Helen Keller’s children!’

Chaka and Mary have had a hit and miss relationship over the decades, but in recent years they seem to have reached a rapprochement.

In 1992, Mary released a cover of Sweet Thing, a song Chaka introduced in 1975 when she was a member of the band Rufus.

Apparently, the cover was not to the liking of Chaka, who began to describe Sweet Thing in her own concerts as “the song Mary J. Blige f***ed up.”

However, in 2007, the two women seemed to have mended the fences so well that they recorded a breakup duet called Disrespectful.

On the new podcast, when Chaka was told Beyoncé was eighth on the Rolling Stone list, she hesitated, then replied, “I’m not going to comment on that.”

Chaka, who years ago denied calling Beyoncé a “b****,” said, “I have nothing to say about Beyoncé. She’s a great singer, okay?’

She added, “She really has a chance to be a great singer. She has what it takes. She’s got the chops, she’s got that, okay?’

Joan Baez was at the bottom of the list at number 189, prompting Chaka to observe, “Let’s face it, the b*** can’t sing.” Now she was a good writer.’

Aretha Franklin, meanwhile, was in first place – “the way she should be f***ing” – and Whitney Houston in second, which Chaka thought was “awesome.”

Debbie Harry was left at number 160 “because she can’t sing either,” Chaka scoffed, while Christina Aguilera was at number 141 “whatever.” Many black people like Christina Aguilera. She’s fine.’

Not one to mince words in regards to her fellow singers, Chaka previously countered Ariana Grande in a 2020 interview with comedian Luenell on VladTV.

Ariana sang with Chaka on the song Nobody for the flop 2018 Charlie’s Angels movie starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska.

When Luenell asked if Chaka would work with Ariana again, Chaka said, “Nah, fuck her,” laughing and shaking her head. ‘No, she’s fine. She’s good on her own.’

Chaka explained that ‘I don’t want to sing with another woman. I have nothing to say, okay, with a woman. You say it yourself. Say what you – and we’re not going to talk about anyone. We’re not going to do any of those things. It’s not happening, okay?’

Luenell gleefully called her a “boss b***” after her reply, and Chaka said, “I’m not gonna do a song without a heifer.”

However in the same interview she said, ‘She’s a great singer. She is also her own planet. Her own planet, and you know, she’s amazing. i get her. I got her. I love her. Bam.’
