  • But things turned violent when Colorado began to take control of the game.

Celtics star Derrick White was involved in a physical altercation over the weekend at a Colorado football game.

White, who played for the school’s basketball team from 2015 to 2017, was in Boulder watching Deion Sanders’ team play rivals Colorado State.

And things got complicated in the second quarter, with TMZ Report that the Boston guard got into a “verbal argument” with some Colorado State fans who were nearby.

From there, things turned violent when one man slammed his arm into the side of White’s head and even knocked off his hat.

That decision sparked a fight (beyond White), as he attempted to reach out to CSU fans.

However, others intervened to separate White from the instigating fans and the violence eventually stopped after a couple of minutes of scuffle.

At one point, White played a peacemaker role as he dragged what appeared to be a Colorado fan away from a CSU fan and gently sat him on the ground.

White helped the fan up and TMZ said police were on the scene to help calm the situation.

The outlet also said no police report was filed, citing what they heard from police officers.

Colorado defeated their rivals 28-9.

White won his first NBA championship in June when the Celtics defeated the Mavericks in a five-game NBA Finals.

He then went to Paris as a member of the U.S. Olympic basketball team, where he also won a gold medal.
