Celtic shocked the crowd at Ibrox when they took the lead after just 21 seconds thanks to Daizen Maeda’s bizarre goal against Rangers.
The Old Firm rivals came into the clash separated by just one point, with Brendan Rodgers’ side leading the way at the top.
Celtic have prevailed in both fixtures this season and came into the tie in good form, having recovered from a slump by their standards earlier in the year.
Maeda charged at an attempted clearance by James Tavernier and saw the ball sail past a helpless Jack Butland in goal.
Although quick, the Japan international’s goal was not quick enough to become the fastest goal in Old Firm history. That honor goes to Mail Sport’s Chris Sutton.
