One fan tweeted: ‘Five minutes before half time the police move along to where these guys were standing, just to my left, pointing people out.

‘As soon as HT whistle blew they barged in, started grabbing guys & utterly smashing them with batons.’

Celtic have been fined by UEFA in the past after their fans let off fireworks and flares during European matches.

The most recent incident took place in February 2017 when fireworks were let off during the game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

AIK were this week slapped with an £82,500 fine for crowd disturbance during their Champions League qualifier against Maribor this month.
