Celine Dion’s sister shares grim health update on singer as she battles stiff-person syndrome: ‘We can’t find any medicine that works’
Celine Dion’s sister, Claudette Dion, has revealed the Power Of Love singer struggled to keep up with her diagnosis of stiff person syndrome.
Stiff-person syndrome is a rare, incurable neurological condition that results in uncontrollable muscle spasms.
Opening at the Journal de Montréal (via SheMazing), about the My Heart Will Go On singer’s life after her world tour was canceled, Claudette admitted that her sister needed to “rest.”
However, the Canadian crooner’s sister added that Celine is “working hard” to see if there is a cure for what some medical professionals call “statue syndrome”.
“She listens as much as possible to the best researchers in the field of this rare disease,” said Claudette.

Fans of the vocal powerhouse were incredibly supportive of Celine when news broke that she was canceling her world tour due to her health issues.
“All I care about is you,” wrote one fan.
Another added: “We love you Celine, take good care of you.”
The recurring theme from fans of the All By Myself singer was that they wanted her to prioritize her health first.
Claudette acknowledged her sister’s dedication to performance, saying, “She always goes above and beyond, she always tries to be the best and the most successful.”
However, “at some point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something,” Claudette reflected.
Despite the derogatory diagnosis, the It’s All Coming Back To Me Now singer has her family’s support.
Her sister noted, “(Performance is) innate to her, she is disciplined in all areas of her life.
“We can’t find any drugs that work, but it’s important to have hope,” Claudette said.

Due to the nature of stiff person syndrome, the Fade Away singer’s world tour is canceled until further notice.
Claudette also noted during her interview that Celine’s other sister, Linda, had moved into Celine’s house to support the star.
“When I call her and she’s busy, I talk to my sister Linda who lives with her and tells me she works hard,” Claudette mentioned.
A source close to the beautiful brunette told American weekly“It was a shock, but she has lost none of her fighting spirit and is comforted to know at least exactly what she is dealing with now.”
They added: “It is reassuring that she can alleviate some of the symptoms by getting specific treatments for this disease.”
