Helen Flanagan opened up about her relationship with David Haye on Monday’s episode of Celebs Go Dating.
The former Coronation Street star, 34, who split from fiancé Scott Sinclair, 34, in 2022, appeared in the I’m A Celeb jungle with David in 2012.
Speaking to Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn on the show, Helen got emotional as she admitted she had a crush on David.
David is in an open relationship with Sian Osbourne and started dating Helen last year, but things got awkward as Helen struggled to not be the only woman.
Helen explained: ‘I’d known him for 10 years. We did a reality show together. I remember the first time, when I saw him in the jungle, I thought, ‘Wow!’ It was something very special. I find it very difficult to talk about it (now).’

‘He had a girlfriend and an open relationship. I didn’t mean to fall in love with him, but I did. We had an amazing connection together, we were like fire.
“It was weird. I think he loves his girlfriend and me too. It reminds me of a time in my life that was pretty dark.”
When Anna mentioned that the relationship had been reported as a ‘threesome’ in the media, Helen said: ‘No (it wasn’t). I was in love with him. I wouldn’t have liked to see the man I was in love with having sex with another woman – that’s not for me.
“I had communication with his girlfriend, but I felt very guilty. I didn’t feel good about it all. It really bothered me because I didn’t want to hurt other people, but I felt very alone.
“I found it very difficult because it just happened. It’s not nice for another girl and I should have known that.”
Last year, Helen reportedly joined David’s group after the two had a flirtatious exchange with each other.
In exclusive pictures obtained by MailOnline, Helen is seen chatting to David and Sian at a Heineken party after a boxing event.
Viewers revealed Helen was particularly smitten with the pair, who previously welcomed The Saturdays singer Una Healy into their romance.
When David and Helen met in the Australian jungle, the boxer admitted he thought the soap actress was “a very pretty girl” but said she “smelled of fake tan”.

Once this came to light, Helen was asked to be transparent with agents and fellow celebrities during her next day of filming.
‘As per the show’s guidelines, all celebrity contestants must be single. After discussing the situation, it was decided that Helen and her partner Robbie would meet with agents to assess their compatibility, and Helen would no longer date members of the public. These developments will be featured on the show from episode 10 onwards.’
Appearing on the long-running series, Helen previously spoke about her dating struggles after splitting from ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair.
Helen split from her footballer fiancé in 2022 after 13 years and they have three children: Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and Charlie, three.

A source told The Sun: ‘Helen tried to keep the relationship a secret because of Celebs Go Dating. But that became difficult as their feelings for each other grew. It came to a head when dating agents questioned her about why she wasn’t pursuing hookups on the show.
‘The only rule of CGD is that stars must be single. But E4 bosses were desperate to keep her so they found a way to get Robbie onto the show.
“Sources on the set have seen him filming alongside Helen. While it is not known how E4 will justify the farce, viewers will feel they are being misled.”
