A well-known Australian vegan activist has filmed herself hearing horrific threats against her on the streets of Perth.
A man who had no idea who he was talking to told Tash Peterson that if she went to his friend’s farm, they would make her “disappear.”
In their latest stunt, Peterson and his partner Jack Higgs dressed up as farmers with signs reading: “Farmers Against Vegans Union says NO to VEGANISM.”
She filmed encounters of people who approached her and expressed their strong opinions about her, not knowing it was her they were talking about.
“A guy came up to me and started talking about me, obviously not knowing who I was, thinking I was actually an animal breeder,” she said.
Peterson recorded the man saying: “She’s despicable. She’s beyond despicable.”
“I have friends who are farmers and I’ll tell you what they told me: ‘If you come onto our property, you’ll disappear,'” the man told Ms. Peterson.
Not knowing who he was talking to, the man commented on Peterson’s scantily clad attire and use of fake blood in her stunts.
Prominent Australian vegan activist Tash Peterson (pictured) was subjected to horrific threats during her final rally in her hometown of Perth.
A man who didn’t know who he was talking to told the controversial vegan (pictured) that if she went to his friend’s farm they would make her “disappear.”
“I mean the way she does it in front of bloody children in bikinis. I think she has mental problems,” he said.
Peterson egged the man on, saying, “Yeah, I think that dog belongs in a slaughterhouse, too,” referring to herself.
Although the reaction on the streets of the Western Australian capital was poor, Peterson received a much more positive reaction from onlookers after posting footage of his latest stunt online.
“Millions of lives disappear every year, of course that’s how they talk about you,” commented one viewer.
Another added: “You’re an amazing actor. I’m glad you’re on the right side of history and using your skills for good.”
A third wrote: ‘Damn I wish you would have revealed yourself to him at the end!
“I wanted to get that as a reward, and I don’t think it’s a good idea to fire him as part of the deal.”
Just days earlier, Peterson sparked outrage and confusion after taking to the streets in a bikini and fake blood to protest the sale of items made from animal skin.
The nearly naked activist protested outside David Jones on Hay Street in central Perth on Monday in a joint action with animal rights organisation PETA.
She made her message loud and clear as she lay on a ‘blood-soaked chopping board’ that read: ‘David Jones: Throws wild animal skins.’
Tash Peterson says no one recognised her dressed as a farmer on the streets of Perth
The latest stunt comes days after Tash Peterson sparked outrage and confusion after turning up at Perth’s CBD in a bikini and fake blood to protest the sale of items made from animal skin.
“Animals are brutally tortured, abused and killed alive with their skin turned into jackets, shoes, handbags and belts,” Peterson said.
In August, Peterson paid a heavy price for robbing a restaurant, prompting a brazen response from the owner.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of trespassing and disorderly conduct over two separate confrontations at the Fyre restaurant in the northern Perth suburb of Connolly last year.
Peterson was banned from leaving Western Australia under a six-month community order issued by a Joondalup Magistrates Court magistrate, and was also fined thousands of dollars.
Fyre was delighted when the restaurant posted the outcome of the case on its Facebook page.
“Peterson then pleaded guilty to the crimes he committed at our location over a year ago,” the post reads.
“He was given a six-month community order for 30 hours of ‘shit collecting’, $2,300 in fines and additional costs. Thank you WA Police, we love you all at Fyre.”
