Celebration Coronation: Unveiling of Bust of King crafted from 2,875 Melted Chocolates.

Date:

King Charlie…straight from the Chocolate Factory! A bust of King Charles from 2875 melted-down ceremonies was unveiled to celebrate the coronation

It was sculpted in marble and bronze, but now King Charles III is molded in chocolate.

An oversized bust of the king – made entirely of chocolate from the festivities – was unveiled ahead of his coronation on May 6, in London’s Westminster Abbey.

An expert team of chocolatiers and model-makers studied hours of footage of the king to capture his portrait, before melting more than 17 liters of chocolate to inject it into a custom mould.

The bust, which took four weeks to make and weighs more than 23kg – the equivalent of 2,875 individual candies for the celebration, was modeled after the outfit the monarch is expected to wear at the coronation ceremony.

Her epaulettes – ornate shoulder pieces – were emblazoned with Twix, Milky Way, Galaxy and Bounty chocolates, while Maltesers Tears were used to embellish the King’s collar.

The medallions adorning the statue’s chest were created using one of each of the well-known chocolates, including miniature Snickers bars.

The piece was specially designed by British confectionery company Celebration, which is releasing a limited-edition tub of “Coronation” to celebrate the historic event.

Emily Owen, Senior Brand Manager at Celebrations, said: “What better way to celebrate this moment in British history than to immortalize His Majesty King Charles III using the country’s finest engagement fun.

A team of master chocolatiers created a delicious tribute to our new king to celebrate this occasion of national celebration and we’re thrilled it looks.

The team studied hours of footage of the king to capture his true image and uncanny resemblance.

“The celebrations are about bringing people together, and we are thrilled to share this occasion with so many chocolate lovers across the country.”

The statue of King Charles III will be on display at Mars Wrigley UK Headquarters in Slough.
