Mikel Arteta said he “loves” that his team, Arsenal, have played four times in the last two weeks, while their rival, Tottenham, has been resting.

Before Sunday’s decisive north London derby, the Gunners lost two games (against Bayern Munich and Aston Villa) and won two.

However, the Spurs have not played a single game. However, Arteta is unfazed.

He said: “I love the fact that we played four times and had great experiences in a very demanding week.”

“We got some really good results in the last two and obviously that boosted everyone’s confidence and belief.” We are in a good place.

He also confirmed that Jurrien Timber is “very close” to returning to the first team, although he is unlikely to arrive in time for Sunday’s game.

“We will have to make that decision tomorrow after training,” Arteta said when asked about the status of his versatile defender.

“It’s very close, I don’t know if this will come to him soon, but it is very close.”

‘Apart from Jurrien, it will be very difficult for us to have everyone available. It elevates the training and it is going to be something very important.

‘It’s quite a headache! You feel for the players because you see how much they love him. It is always difficult, but they are also fully prepared to go out on the field when we need them. His spirit is very good.’
