BREAKING NEWS: CDC will release new guidelines recommending that fully vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors in some cases

  • CDC to recommend Tuesday that fully vaccinated Americans put masks back on indoors in some situations
  • Reversal of guidelines released by the agency in May, allowing vaccinated people to expose

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will recommend Tuesday that vaccinated Americans should wear masks indoors in some situations, The New York Times reported.

It’s a reversal of the decision made to the CDC on May 13, which said fully vaccinated Americans could safely expose themselves indoors in most situations.

The decision comes as the number of cases in the United States is growing again due to the highly contagious Indian “Delta variant.”

In the past month, the average number of new daily cases across the country has increased fivefold.
