Travis Kelce may be sidelined for the Chiefs’ final preseason game, but that hasn’t stopped intense speculation that the NFL star “wants” to be at the Democratic National Convention.
Ahead of the final night of the four-day Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday, CBS’ Gayle King revealed that Travis, 34, wanted to make an appearance at the political event via an undisclosed source.
“We have not been able to confirm the rumors about Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, and let me tell you, they are very prevalent out there,” a fellow CBS News anchor initially said.
“Well, you know I find the Taylor Swift rumors interesting, because I was told a couple of days ago that Travis Kelce had also reached out to the Harris campaign when it was first announced and said he wanted to be here the night that (Kamala) spoke,” King responded. “We’ll see if that’s true.”
King’s on-air colleagues were quick to debunk the rumors, saying Kelce “has a game tonight,” referring to the Chiefs-Bears game in Kansas City. But King, who was aware of the game at Arrowhead, refuted his peers’ point, saying, “I know he has a game, but that doesn’t mean he’s playing… I’m just saying we’ll see…”
Travis Kelce reportedly ‘reached out’ to Kamala Harris ahead of her speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday
CBS’s Gayle King (second from left) made the claim on national television ahead of the fourth day of the Democratic National Convention.
Nick Adams, Donald Trump’s “favorite author,” revealed on X that Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is “furious” with his tight end, and so are Kelce’s teammates.
But, much like Gayle’s colleagues at CBS are saying, Kelce was seen warming up with the full Chiefs squad ahead of Thursday’s preseason finale against the Bears.
That didn’t stop X-fans from thinking the ‘Swifities’ will vote for Harris in November, which doesn’t surprise many considering the pop star is a well-known Democrat.
“Well, looks like she got the Swifitie vote,” one social media user noted, referring to Harris.
“Taylor really got to him,” another person commented, alluding to Kelce’s rumored desire to be at the Democratic National Convention.
“They’re making up celebrity appearances,” someone else said of Democrats.
