Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrated her son Dylan Douglas’ 24th birthday by sharing an emotional tribute and never-before-seen footage from his childhood.
On Thursday, the 54-year-old Oscar winner posted a home video to her Instagram account that showed her fawning over her eldest son when he was just a baby.
“Happy 24th birthday to my son @dylan__douglas,” she wrote in the caption. “The joy and love you give me everyday is second to none. Being your mom is a gift I never take for granted. I love you my beautiful boy. .”
In the footage, taken when Zeta-Jones was 30, she can be seen gazing adoringly at her then-newborn, who was lying on the bathroom counter atop a fluffy white towel.
Despite the inevitable sleepless nights that all new mothers endure, Zeta-Jones appeared rested and cheerful as her little one came up to her and kicked his feet in the air.

On her Instagram Story, she also shared a black-and-white photo of Dylan with her father Michael Douglas, whom she married in 2000.
“The best production we’ve ever been on,” she enthused. “Dylan thinks Wall Street is better than anyone else! I’m undecided (laughing emoji).”
Michael also took to social media to celebrate his son’s birthday.
“Wow, @dylan__douglas! 24! You’re moving on fast my son! Wishing you a very happy birthday from a proud dad!” he wrote on Instagram.
In addition to Dylan, Zeta-Jones and Michael also share a daughter, Carys, 21.
Michael shares his eldest child, a son named Cameron, 45, with his ex-wife, Diandra Luker.
On Carys’ birthday in April, Zeta-Jones described her daughter as “the most incredible woman” and said she appreciates being her mother “every day.”
Earlier this year, Michael joked that he and his wife bribed their adult children with “luxurious” trips to ensure family time since they both moved away.
“Catherine and I are lucky that our kids Dylan and Carys still like to travel with us,” she joked on Today. “So we just spent five weeks in India over Christmas. And we’re always planning next year, what our trips will be and where we’ll go.”

He said it’s a pleasure to spend time with his children, “especially when you’re not forcing them.”
“I said, ‘Catherine, look, they really want to spend time with us.’ I said, ‘You know, it’s nice.’ But we have good trips. We entice them with good places to go,” he reflected.
Last summer, the family vacationed in Capri and stayed on a yacht.
In 2022, Zeta-Jones told People that her family is happy.
“Both my daughter and Dylan have been incredibly supportive of me, not just as an actress, but also of myself. I feel so lucky to have them both in my life,” she said.
Michael and Catherine were married in New York City in 2000.
On her Instagram Story, she also shared a black-and-white photo of Dylan with her father Michael Douglas, whom she married in 2000.
Michael also took to social media to celebrate his son’s birthday.
In 2001, Zeta-Jones recalled to Larry King how they met at the Deauville Film Festival.
“I had been told that Michael Douglas wanted to meet me. I was a little nervous because I wasn’t sure why he wanted to meet me.”
At the time, Douglas was promoting A Perfect Murder and Zeta-Jones was promoting The Mask of Zorro, both released in 1998.
Their friends Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, previously married, introduced the actors at a private dinner.
Michael asked Catherine if he could sit next to her.
He famously told her he was going to father her children, which shocked her, she said, and he soon after sent her flowers to apologize.

They started a friendship.
“Nine months later, I still have long conversations with him on the phone, go on great dinner dates, and constantly wonder, ‘Why aren’t we together?'” she told King.
“One day we looked at each other and said, ‘We’re having so much fun together,'” she said.
Douglas proposed to Zeta-Jones at her Aspen home on New Year’s Eve 1999 with a million-dollar diamond ring.
“We were both very ill because we had flu,” she told ITV’s Ross King in 2016.
