Cate Blanchett has scored a major real estate win after selling her beautiful Melbourne home weeks before a scheduled auction.
The Oscar winner and her husband Andrew Upton sold the elegant three-bedroom, two-bathroom home for more than $3 million.
Located in sought-after Prahran, 8km from the CBD, the beautiful two-storey home was listed with a price guide of between $2.25 million and $2.45 million earlier this month.
According DomainAn eager buyer snapped up the house ahead of the auction scheduled for March 9, leaving Blanchett and Upton with a profit of more than half a million dollars.
However, the publication could not confirm the buyer or the final price, adding that all listings for the home have been removed.

The Oscar winner and her husband Andrew Upton sold the elegant three-bedroom, two-bathroom home for more than $3 million to an unknown buyer.
Blanchett and Upton did a major redesign of the property after purchasing it in 2006 for $745,000, reports Age.
Built just meters from one of Melbourne’s iconic landmarks, Victoria Gardens, this elegant building is a stylish space with an open-plan design.
The ground floor features a sunken living room with floor-to-ceiling glass walls.

Meanwhile, the second floor offers a ‘kid’s retreat’, while the large master bedroom has a private bathroom and access to the front terrace.
Cate and her husband Andrew are known to own properties in Sydney and the United Kingdom.
The couple’s portfolio includes a glorious Victorian mansion in East Sussex, England, which they bought for £4.9 million (AU$9.4 million) in 2015.
Before Cate and her family moved in, the house was owned by Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Doctor Who star Tom Baker.
