A body has been found on a popular beach in a grim turn of events on Valentine’s Day.
The body was discovered on Casuarina Beach in Darwin, in the Northern Territory, on Wednesday morning.
Police have closed parts of the beach, while Surf Live Savers have warned dog walkers to stay away from the area.

Three officers were seen in the sand following the grim discovery.
An NT Police spokeswoman said the matter was being treated as non-suspicious.
