The cast and crew working on Noel Fielding’s comedy series The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin are reportedly planning to sue the show’s creators after it was axed.

The Great British Bake Off star, 51, played the lead role of the legendary bandit in the multimillion-dollar show which had its first series on Apple TV last spring, but earlier this week it was reported that the second series was canceled due to half production.

When filming on season two resumed after the Christmas break, the cast and crew received the devastating news that it wouldn’t be happening.

It was reported by the sun that Noel did not return after the holidays and now more than 100 are considering a class-action lawsuit against the creators of the Apple TV+ comedy.

They report that because Noel, who plays the character of Turpin, is also a co-writer and executive producer, he will likely be sued as well.

The publication claims that he left for France before the team learned the shocking elimination news and has not been seen in public since.

A source said: “Cancelling a show mid-production is practically unheard of – plus there’s a mystery about what happened.”

“He has left the heads of other programs with whom he feels extremely nervous.

Furthermore, you will have to face any legal action. It’s going to be a tough few months for him.’

MailOnline has contacted Noel’s representatives for comment.

In the comedy series, Noel plays the infamous highwayman who lived between 1705 and 1739, in a fictional version of his life.

Along with his gang of lovable rogues, Dick experiences the highs and lows of celebrity and does what he can to escape the clutches of General Thief Taker.

It is written and created by Claire Downes, Stuart Lane, Ian Jarvis of The Outlaws and The Job Lot, with League Of Gentleman’s Noel and Jeremy Dyson serving as script consultants.

Recalling how she burst into tears when she was tasked with sending one of them home, the TV personality admitted.

In an interview with The Guardian he said: ‘There are some very special bakers in the tent this year. Somehow the standard keeps rising.’

Noel continued: ‘These amazing young bakers are so much better than they should be for their age. It is a harvest year. One of the best so far.

‘I’m fascinated by people. I feel protective of them. If Paul and Prue are harsh on them, I’m absolutely furious. It’s devastating when they leave. This year I especially liked a baker. When I had to send them home, I cried.”
