Boris and Carrie Johnson have welcomed their third child together, a baby named Frank Alfred Odysseus Johnson, or Frankie to his family.
Ms Johnson, 35, made the announcement on Instagram this afternoon, where she shared photos of the newborn, Mr Johnson’s eighth child and Carrie’s second child.
Writing alongside the photo, the former prime minister’s wife – who is mother to three-year-old Wilfred and 18-month-old Romy – revealed the newborn’s arrival with a series of adorable images.
Carrie, in a white dress, is seen holding the baby and looking at it adoringly. She also shared photos of Frankie tucked in by her older brother Wilf and lying happily in a Moses basket.
She wrote: ‘Welcome to the world, Frank Alfred Odysseus Johnson, born July 5 at 9:15 am (Can you guess what name my husband chose?!)

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie Johnson arrive at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on May 6.
‘I’m loving every minute of the sleepy baby bubble. Seeing my two oldest hug their new brother with such joy and excitement has been the most wonderful thing to see. We are all very much in love.
‘Many thanks to the amazing NHS maternity team at UCLH. They really are the most amazing and caring people. I feel such immense gratitude.
‘Now, can anyone recommend any good series/boxes for binge eating while breastfeeding?

The baby is the third for the couple, but the eighth for Daily Mail columnist Johnson. The former prime minister has four children from his marriage to the lawyer Marina Wheeler. He also has a fifth child, Stephanie Macintyre, with art consultant Helen Macintyre.
The Johnsons named Wilfred after Mr Johnson’s grandfather with one of his middle names, Lawrie, after his own grandfather and the other being Nicholas, after a doctor who treated the former MP as he battled Covid in the St Thomas’s Hospital in London.
His daughter Romy was named after Mrs. Johnson’s aunt Rosemary, her middle name Iris means rainbow in Greek and her third name Charlotte was a tribute to Mr. Johnson’s late mother.

In May, Ms Johnson announced that she was expecting her third child, adding that the arrival was only a few weeks ago.
Sharing her news on Instagram, she said she’s felt “quite exhausted” over the past eight months, adding: “We can’t wait to meet this little guy” in a few weeks.
‘Wilf is very excited to be a big brother again and has been talking non-stop.
‘Don’t think Romy has any idea what’s coming. He will soon.
The baby’s arrival is just over three years after Ms. Johnson gave birth to her first child, Wilfred.
And in December 2021 they welcomed their daughter Romy, whom Ms Johnson described as her ‘rainbow baby’ following her miscarriage a year earlier.
The couple moved to Oxfordshire earlier this year after Johnson stepped down as prime minister last September.
Mr. Johnson’s children with Mrs. Wheeler are 20 years old: Lara Lettice is 20, Milo Arthur is 27,
Cassia Peaches, 25, and Theodore Apollo, 23.
He also has another daughter from a relationship with art consultant Helen McIntyre.
