Carrie Bickmore comes under fire for confusing rappers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj during a Met Gala segment on The Project — and mispronouncing Keke Palmer’s name

The project’s Carrie Bickmore was criticized by viewers this week for a series of awkward mistakes made on the show during a Met Gala segment on Tuesday.

One viewer said they were ’embarrassed’ of the presenter, 40, after she confused rappers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.

She also mispronounced the name of Vogue’s livestream co-host Keke Palmer and viewers held her accountable.

“There were some notable absences, including the one and only Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker and our favorite Met fashionista Nicki Minaj,” said Carrie, as footage of Cardi B played at the 2019 Met Gala.

Carrie tried to reference Nicki boycotting the Met Gala this year for refusing to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to participate.

“You all realize you’ve shown a clip of Cardi B when you’re talking about Nicki Minaj, right? I’m so ashamed of #TheProjectTV that you also mispronounced Keke Palmer’s name,” one viewer tweeted.

Another called the accident “blasphemy.”

“Umm The Project, you just said that Nicki Minaj was noticeably absent for being antivax as she showed footage of the iconic MET QUEENNNN Cardi B in her gorgeous red dress. This is blasphemy,” they tweeted.

Nicki, 38, made headlines overnight after posting a tweet explaining she had refused to take the Covid vaccine and had pulled out of her Met Gala performance because the event required guests were fully vaccinated.

She drew criticism on Monday after dangerously advising her followers to consider the ‘side effects’ of rolling up the sleeves for the life-saving Covid vaccine.

“My cousin in Trinidad is not getting the vaccine because his friend got it and became impotent,” she tweeted.

“His testicles became swollen. His friend would be weeks away from getting married, now the girl has called off the wedding.

“So pray for it and make sure you’re comfortable with your decision and not being bullied.”

Hours later, Western Sydney Health called the singer and urged her to stick with the role she knows best.

“We promise to leave the rapping to @NickiMinaj when she leaves medicine to doctors and scientists,” the department tweeted.

There is no evidence that Covid-19 vaccines cause erectile dysfunction or male infertility.
