Christina Applegate is opening up about a recent multiple sclerosis (MS) relapse that left her in so much pain she thought her “legs were done.”
The 52-year-old actress and her friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also suffers from MS, recently started a podcast called Messy where they talk about their struggles.
The Married With Children star opened up about a recent MS relapse, describing: “Intense pain in my legs” and “not being able to walk to the bathroom without feeling like I’m going to fall.”

He added that there was “a crazy tingling that has bursts of tingles that are strange and come from my butt down.”

The Dead to Me star went on to say that the relapse even drastically affected his sleeping habits.
“I haven’t slept for 24 hours because my eye is doing something strange: Every time I close it to sleep, my right eye starts moving like this,” he said.
‘I’m a little worried about that. And my legs have never been this bad, so I don’t know what’s going on,” he continued.
‘Like, no power. The legs are just done. I can’t get circulation. “I can’t make them stop hurting,” she said, adding that she was going to see a doctor about it.
Sigler, who revealed in 2016 that he was diagnosed with MS when he was just 20, said: “Sometimes you can be doing all the right things and that doesn’t solve the problem.”
Applegate admitted: “Then you do all the bad things and lie in a dark room watching TV, wishing it would all go away.” And that’s where I am.’
The actress also spoke about returning from a vacation but returning home when a “deep depression” overcame her.
‘I’m going to be honest with you. I need to buy shares in Cottonelle because I haven’t showered in three weeks because I can’t stand up in the shower. There’s no way I can stand up in the shower,” he said.
The Dead to Me star went on to say that the relapse even drastically affected his sleeping habits.

The longtime artist, who was diagnosed with MS in 2021, called the condition “the worst thing that has happened to her” in “her entire life.”
Applegate’s vision is still intact, but she described another side effect she experiences.
“My hand starts getting weird and then sometimes I get a twitching feeling in my brain,” he shared.
