Caroline Flack planned a luxury day for her beloved dog Ruby just a few days before she took her own life
Caroline Flack had planned a luxury day for her beloved dog Ruby, just a few days before she took her own life at the age of 40.
The former host of Love Island died on Saturday in her new flat in Islington, North London, hours, hours after she was told that she would stand trial for friend Lewis Burton’s alleged attack last year – while the producer-friend who was staying with her went to the stores.
The Country Dog hotel brought a moving tribute to Caroline and revealed that she was planning to spend the day with them and Ruby on Sunday.

Love Island is startled by THIRD death tragedy that could mean the end of a controversial ITV2 reality show
The tragic death of Caroline Flack can lead ITV bosses to pull the plug out of Love Island after she has become the third person involved in the show to take their own life.
The hugely popular money spinner had already been extensively investigated after the suicides of former participants Sophie Gradon (32) and Mike Thalassitis (26), calling on producers to take better care of the stars.
The death of Flack will again worry about the support that the broadcaster is showing to people with psychological problems and the perceived lack of support from production bosses.
“ITV talks about duty of care but there was little to no support for her,” a source close to Flack told The Sun.
“She went from hosting one of the most popular shows on TV to being ejected effectively.”
Following the tragic news, ITV pulled the highlight episode from Love Island last night: Unseen Bits due to the air at 9 o’clock on ITV2.
The program announcer said, “In light of today’s sad news, we’re replacing the Love Island: Unseen Bits episode tonight with a double bill from You’ve Been Framed.”
However, it is not known if Love Island will be broadcast according to schedule tomorrow night.
Earlier on Sunday, it appeared that paramedics were cleared to Flack’s home in North London the day before committing suicide – but did not take to a hospital after a clinical assessment.
Sources told MailOnline that ambulance personnel were sent to “Stoke Newington flat” from the former Love Island presenter for “concern about her well-being,” but decided not to take her to the hospital after checking her.
An ITV spokesperson said tonight: “Many people at ITV knew Caroline well and loved her with great affection. We are all absolutely devastated by this tragic news.
“After careful consultation between Caroline’s representatives and the Love Island production team and considering how close we are to the news of Caroline’s tragic death, we decided not to broadcast tonight’s Love Island out of respect for Caroline’s family . Love Island is coming back tomorrow night with a tribute to Caroline, who will be in our hearts forever. “
ITV and Love Island producers were previously examined for the aftercare for participants in the Love Island show.
Reality shows have been warned by Ofcom that they have a duty of care towards their stars.
Participant Joe Swash, who worked with Caroline on the ITV2 show I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp had shared his own tribute a few hours earlier, admitted that it had been a ‘tough day’ to prepare for his routine after learning her death.
Professional skating partner Alexandra Murphy added: “It was really hard to do this and make a happy song if he feels that way, so I’m really proud of him.”
Heyday: Flack is pictured above in a promotional recording for the 2019 series from Love Island. It was announced tonight that the show would not be broadcast tonight
With wife Stacey Solomon who supports her husband from the studio audience, he said: “I just want to send my love to her family and my condolences.”
Caroline took her own life after a worried friend who was staying with her went to the shops and left her alone in her London apartment.
The production friend could not go back into the flat when she returned.
The Flack management team calls the CPS case a ‘show trial’ that was ‘not in the public interest’
Caroline Flack management said everyone was devastated by the news and criticized the Crown Prosecution Service for continuing her “show process” even after her friend said he did not support it.
Francis Ridley of Money Talent Management said in a statement: “We are devastated by the loss of our client and friend Caroline Flack.
‘An enormously talented young woman who was at the top of her game professionally and loved by television viewers throughout the country. In recent months, Caroline has been under great pressure due to an ongoing case and a possible trial that has been reported well.
“The Crown Prosecutor’s Office pursued this when they not only knew how very vulnerable Caroline was, but also that the alleged victim did not support the prosecution and had contested the CPS version of the events.
“The CPS should look at themselves today and how they pursued a show process that was not only without merit but not in the public interest. And in the end that resulted in much suffering for Caroline. Our thoughts are currently with Caroline’s family. “
She called Flack’s father Ian who had access to the flat where he found the body of the star.
Her management team has since described her as “vulnerable” and has criticized the CPS for continuing an ongoing lawsuit, despite her friend Lewis Burton who said he did not want to file a complaint.
He said she had hit him with a lamp in her former home in Islington in December, and as part of her bail, the couple were not allowed to contact each other.
Today, Mr. Burton shared a photo of the couple on vacation together this morning on Instagram, saying that his “heart is broken” and promises to be “her voice.”
Mr. Burton’s message today read: “My heart is broken, we had something so special. I’m so lost for words. I’m in so much pain. I miss you so much. I know you felt safe with me. You always said that I don’t think about anything else when I’m with you. I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking.
“I will be your voice dear, I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers, nothing will bring you back, but I will try to make you proud every day.” I love you with all my heart. “
He then put back a photo that Flack had uploaded on Instagram on December 5 with the text: “In a world where you can be everything, be friendly”, with the caption “I will love you forever.”
Although they could no longer contact each other, Mr. Burton posted a photo of the couple on Friday together with the caption: “Happy Valentines,” with a red love heart at the end
The news was confirmed by her family, who said in a statement yesterday: “We can confirm that our Caroline died today on February 15. We want to ask the press to respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time. “
Emotional: Caroline’s friend Lewis Burton posted an emotional tribute on Instagram this morning following the news of her death on Saturday
Tribute: he then put back a photo that Flack had uploaded on Instagram on 5 December with the text: “In a world where you can be everything, be friendly”, with the caption “I will love you forever”
Today, her best friend, TV producer Mollie Grosberg, paid tribute to her with a video of the couple in a climbing center three days before she died.
She saw flowers outside her house today and wrote on Instagram: “I can’t even find the right words to say here and I’m sure it sounds messy, but she deserves a million tribute and more.
“Everyone remembers her in the best way. Carrie always had a smile on her face, a naughty smile and her heart wide open.
“When she let you in, you were the happiest and she taught me to love everyone and to forgive everyone. She forgave so easily and loved her so much and I will never stop loving her.
Caroline Flack: A call for help?
Caroline Flack often spoke about her struggles, both in interviews and on social media.
Caroline said, after her strict success: “Fame doesn’t make you happy”
The winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2014 said she felt depressed after her victory at the BBC show.
After winning the series together with professional partner Pasha Kovalev, she admitted that she felt she was “held together by a string that could break at any time.”
In an unearthed interview by the Daily star After her death, Caroline claimed that: “It all started the day after I won Strictly. I woke up and felt that someone had covered my body with cling film. I couldn’t get up and couldn’t pick myself up next year. “
Ignored? “When I actually contacted someone, they said I was tapping,” Caroline admitted in October 201
“BEING A BURDEN IS MY BIGGEST FEAR”
In an Instagram post she uploaded on October 14, 2019 – on the occasion of World Mental Health Day – Caroline kept a photo of herself: “On some days it is difficult to write your feelings that you are not in the right place.
“I’ve been in a very weird place for the last few weeks … I find it hard to talk about it … I think it’s fear and pressure of life … and when I actually approached someone, they said I was tapping.
“I feel that this is why some people keep their emotions to themselves. I certainly hate to talk about my feelings. And being a burden is my biggest fear. “
Signs of suicide? She loved tweets about calling the Samaritans during Christmas
Caroline was told to stay out of social media after her attack in December 2019.
However, she especially liked a series of tweets in the following days, before Christmas, to encourage those who felt lonely during the holidays to seek help.
The tweets – posted by actress Sheridan Smith, journalist Stacey Dooley and comedian Luke Kempner – contain the telephone number for the suicide hotline of The Samaritans.
She also posted on Instagram around the same time: “This kind of research and speculation is a lot to undertake for a person … I am a human at the end of the day and I am not silenced when I have a story have to tell and a life to go on with. “
Reportedly Caroline had decided to write a book during her recent free time.
“Caroline has found the process incredibly cathartic,” one of her friends told Mail. ‘She wants it to be more than just a story about her. She wants to talk about the problems she has encountered and how she has overcome them.
“She hopes to be able to help others who may have similar problems.”
“Today it feels like it’s not real and I wish it wasn’t. This girl was a force and always said the right thing, always made me feel safe and even cared for her own mess. This is the worst pain I have ever felt and we all feel it.
“This huge and painful and heartbreaking loss to all her friends and her incredible family. I hope we find peace with each other as she has found it now. She brought us all together. I love you forever and always my little girl.
“I kissed you yesterday and it was the last time and it was the most valuable feeling. I love you forever and always and always. “
Flowers were also seen outside her old home in Islington, where she was arrested on suspicion of attacking Mr. Burton with a lamp.
The LAS said about Friday’s call: “We were called shortly after 10:30 pm on February 14 to a home on Northwold Road, N16.
‘Crews were present and after a clinical assessment the person was not taken to the hospital. Due to the confidentiality of the patient, we cannot comment further. “
Then on Saturday: ‘On Saturday at 2.31 p.m. at 2.31 p.m., officers were informed of a concern for welfare at Stoke Newington.
“Officers and the London ambulance service were present and found an unresponsive woman at the address. She was declared dead on the spot. Surviving relatives are informed. Death is treated as unsuspecting. A file is prepared for the coroner. “
Today a blond-haired woman in a black jacket was seen arriving at the exclusive converted school where Flack took her life and buzzed one of the flats there. After she had passed the gated development in a black Audi, she left a few minutes later.
An eyewitness said about yesterday’s scenes: “I saw two men walk through the gates to the flats where Caroline Flack lived yesterday afternoon.
“Both were crying and embracing each other for support.
“They waited for the police to turn up. They met the police and paramedics when they arrived and let them in.
“At first I didn’t know what was going on. Only when I read the news about Caroline Flack did I realize that it must have been for her. “
A member of Flack’s management team said last night that the CPS should look “at herself” in the light of her death and claimed that they were pursuing a lawsuit against her “without merit,” resulting in “considerable suffering for Caroline.”
It was heard in court that Flack cautiously said that she would commit suicide and that she said, “I did it,” when she was asked if she had beaten her boyfriend.
The saga surrounding her lawsuit forced her to resign from hosting Love Island, which began its first winter series ever in South Africa at the beginning of the year and is now being organized by Laura Whitmore.
The former presenter has been described by friends as a feeling ‘alone’ and that she ‘could not see a way out’. They claim that she struggled with her mental health and used antidepressants before her death.
One of Flack’s last Twitter likes was a post-suicide prevention post-Christmas that said, “For many people, this is a difficult time of the year. Suicide Hotline 116 123 (Samaritans) A simple copy and paste can save a person’s life. If you are struggling, please talk to someone. XXX ‘
Her replacement in the show, Laura Whitmore, paid tribute to Flack last night when she posted on Twitter: “I’m trying to find the words but I can’t do it” posted alongside a broken heart emoji and a poem about loss.
She started her Radio 5 Live radio show this morning with the words, “Be nice … It’s gone too far … your words affect people,” while she fought tears.
Whitmore described Flack as someone who was “bubbles,” “alive,” and had an “infectious smile.” She said she was not perfect, but asked, “Is there anyone?”
She added that all the star wanted was love, and told her listeners: “Caroline loved love. That’s all she wanted. “
