Carol Breakfast of BBC Breakfast revealed that she was hit by a car while cycling while explaining her short break from the show on Tuesday.
The 57-year-old weather host returned freely to the BBC’s morning show after a few weeks, thanking those who helped her after the accident.
She admitted that she is “grateful to be here,” she said, “I was on the bike and knocked off by a car hitting me, it was purely an accident, of course, and I was injured.

“This is a great opportunity to thank the three cyclists who helped me immediately after the incident.
“And the Thames Valley police, too, were Chris and Faye. And the ambulance who took care of me and took me to the hospital was Miranda and Stewart.
“At Wexham Park Hospital, this man is a genius, his name is Peter Foskett-Tharby. I cannot thank you enough and I am so grateful to you all. ‘

Carol is not yet completely healthy, but was happy that she was still alive.
She said, “I’ll get there. I still have a nasty knee injury, but I’m here. ‘
After the show, Carol tweeted, “Morning! I hope you and yours keep it all good and safe. xxx
She admitted that she is ‘grateful to be here’, she said: ‘I was on my bike and was knocked off by a car that hit me, it was purely an accident of course and I got injured’
Speaking to presenters Dan Walker and Louise Minchin, she said, “I’ll get there. I still have an unpleasant knee injury, but I’m here ‘
She continued, “This is a great opportunity to say thanks to the three cyclists who helped me right after the incident.”
