A cruise passenger has capsized a vacation liner after fearing it had gone overboard during a domestic dispute.

On Wednesday, the man had been arguing with his partner on the Carnival Luminosa liner off the central Queensland coast.

She was believed to have fallen overboard when the argument escalated, leading the crew to declare a “man overboard” emergency.

A cruise passenger has capsized a vacation liner after raising fears it had gone overboard during a domestic dispute.

Distraught passenger Sally recalled the horrific incident and the initial moment of panic and confusion that gripped the ship.

“The siren went off with three ‘man overboard’ calls on the port side,” he wrote on Facebook.

“We looked out our balcony and saw the lifebuoys going down into the ocean. The orange smoke activated when they touched the water, and they made a bit of a line to make them easier to find.

“The ship very slowly turned around and headed back, but in the meantime, old super detective Sally got some answers.”

Sally went to inspect the commotion when a ship’s mechanic told her that a crew member may have fallen off the ship.

He then went down to the deck of the spa, where he spoke to two other tourists who quickly told him what had really happened.

“They said they were on deck six and could hear a man and woman yelling at each other,” he wrote.

‘Then a man jumped over the railing on deck seven and landed in one of the lifeboats in front of them and scuttled back to the ship.

‘The woman called ‘man overboard’ thinking that she had jumped into the water. Then the whole ‘man overboard’ process began.

Sally said she was able to piece together what really happened after talking to more people about the incident.

“Later I heard on the grapevine that he went back up to his room and started banging on the door to be let in,” she wrote.

So I’m assuming she locked him on the balcony and took him out of the room, he jumped off the balcony and onto the deck below and ran upstairs to try and get back that way.

“Reports from other people later that night were that they both ended up in the brig.”

Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Kara Glamore confirmed that a passenger had climbed over the railing.

“Fortunately, he was not injured, but climbing the rails is strictly against our safety protocols,” he said.

The guest was confined to a cabin at the end of the cruise.
