He Democratic National Convention The Democratic National Convention (DNC) kicks off today in Chicago with high-profile speakers taking the stage at the McCormick Place Convention Center and the United Center. While politicians, delegates, and campaign staff are often already familiar with the convention grounds, this will be the first time the DNC has hosted influencers and content creators like accredited members of the media.
More than 200 social media personalities have received credentials for the convention, which runs through Aug. 22. Several of them are headed to watch Kamala Harris formally accept the party’s nomination for president and will have the opportunity to create content with unprecedented access, but a select few have been invited to take the stage and give speeches.
Below are some of the influencers who will be speaking at the convention:
Carlos Eduardo Espina (@carlos_eduardo_espina) — 10.2 million followers on TikTok
What it covers: Immigrant rights
Espina comments on a wide variety of topics on his page, from culture to sports and politics. The son of immigrant parents, Espina lists on his page Instagram Biography who is a law student and immigrant rights activist. He will speak at the convention on Wednesday, according to the The New York Times.

What it covers: Access to abortion
Foxx is an influencer who lives in Arizona and describes herself as an “Arizona abortion girl.” She has worked in the reproductive rights industry since she was a teenager and was a member of Harris’ first presidential campaign. Foxx will be the first influencer to speak at the convention on Monday.
Olivia Julianna (@0liviajulianna) — 682,000 followers on TikTok
What it covers: Climate change, reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights
She defines herself as a “Texan trying to make a difference” in her Instagram BiographyJulianna is a 21-year-old from Houston who focuses on climate change and reproductive rights. Julianna gained followers on Generation Z for changea nonprofit that uses social media and content creators to create the changes Gen Z wants to see. She will also speak on Wednesday.
Nabela Noor (@nabela) — 7.6 million followers on TikTok
What it covers: Home, lifestyle, immigration
Noor is known as a designer, author and homemaker. She is a Muslim-American and is scheduled to speak Tuesday at an event whose theme the DNC says is “A Bold Vision for America’s Future.”
John Russell (@hellojohnrussell) — 181,000 followers on TikTok
What it covers: Labor issues
Russell is a self-proclaimed “cheap journalist” from West Virginia and often speaks on economics and class and labor issues. Russell is also the author of The scream, a newsletter that analyzes class politics for “hillbillies and hippies.”
