Carlos Alcaraz becomes one of the most sought after leading men in tennis

Date:

He is the Spanish heartthrob who has already amassed a fortune of £18 million from his work both on and off the track.

And Carlos Alcaraz is now poised to take over from the likes of Roger Federer and fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal as tennis’ most sought after hunk after landing multiple high-profile lucrative endorsement deals.

More recently, he followed in Federer’s footsteps by becoming the face of Louis Vuitton after fashion labels lined up to nab him.

The 20-year-old has also landed global contracts with Calvin Klein and BMW.

Alcaraz, who also has a deal with Rolex watches, is also the face of Spanish food brand El Pozo and suntan lotion company Isdin. He regularly connects the brands on his Instagram account, where he already has 2.6 million followers and that number is rapidly increasing as his tennis career becomes more successful.

The star, who has already won over Wimbledon fans with his sleek footwork and tanned, muscular physique, can be seen in the latest Calvin Klein underwear ads modeling their products.

And just three weeks ago, while preparing for Wimbledon, Louis Vuitton chose him as an ambassador, beating out Gucci and Armani, who also like to hire tennis stars.

Speaking of their deal, Alcaraz said: “I remember, a long time ago when I was young, I saw people with Louis Vuitton bags and I wanted one of them.”

He regularly poses with BMW cars and posts the photos on Instagram. The star has also signed with Nike in what is believed to be a seven-figure deal, as well as racket brand Babolat.

A sports industry insider now predicts he will be bigger than Federer, also a face of Rolex watches, and Nadal, who had contracts with fashion houses Armani and Tommy Hilfiger as the face of their underwear.

Alcaraz has made no secret of the fact that in recent years he has become increasingly interested in fashion and has been trained in the matter. He wears shiny sneakers and is a fan of clothing that mixes sportswear with high fashion.

She told Vogue magazine: “I really want to know more about it and be more in fashion.” I think it’s a very interesting world and it excites me.

“I started wearing a suit more often, and I really like to wear it on occasions when I need it, and add a fresh or modern touch, but without taking away from the garment’s elegance,” he says. “I like that it hugs your body, that it’s tight instead of loose.”

Alcaraz, who is from a small town called El Palmar near Murica, is single and dated fellow tennis player María González Gimenz and Spanish singer Ana Mena.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz is looking for a rematch with Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.

The pair met for the first time in a grand slam in the semifinals of the French Open last month in the most anticipated match of the year so far.

For two throbbing sets he lived up to his billing before Alcaraz suffered a cramp, which he later blamed on the stress of the situation.

With Alcaraz and Djokovic as the top two seeds at the All England Club, revenge could only come in the final, where the young Spaniard would be keen to show he learned from what happened in Paris.

He is just the latest young player to discover what a tough nut to crack the big three of Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are at Grand Slams and while the latter two may no longer be a factor, Djokovic looks more of a favorite than ever.

“I would say the pressure they put on everyone,” Alcaraz said when asked to name the most difficult thing about facing Djokovic.

‘Not just me, everyone to play their best for three hours in a Grand Slam. I have to deal with it, but it’s something I really want. I hope to play a final here against him.

The list of players who could potentially prevent Djokovic from winning a fifth straight Wimbledon title may begin and end with Alcaraz.

The 20-year-old is far less experienced than his grass-court rival in particular, but he showed what an exceptionally quick learner he is by lifting the trophy at the Queen’s Club, propelling him past Djokovic to claim the world number one ranking.

“I started Queen’s with no expectations of winning Queen’s and I won it,” he said. ‘I feel very good playing at a high level. Confidence grew a lot.

‘I come to Wimbledon with a lot of confidence, thinking that I can achieve good results here. But obviously for me the main favorite is Djokovic.

‘My expectations are high. I think I will be able to put pressure on the other players, including Djokovic as well. But all I can say is that I feel very confident and I feel ready to do good things here.”
