World number one Carlos Alcaraz quickly edged out French veteran Jeremy Chardy to reach the second round of Wimbledon.
The 20-year-old Spaniard won 6-0 6-2 7-5 in one hour and 53 minutes indoors on Court One.
Chardy, 36, waved farewell to the Wimbledon crowd in what was the Frenchman’s last match before retiring.
