When called out by netizens for the “transphobic” lyrics of his new song, Carlos Agassi asked for support, stating that the song is intended to show love to “all genders, especially the LGBTQ community.”
“Pagbaba ng panty, mga mata’y napadilat. ‘Put*ng-ako’y napamura sa gulat. Venti ang kanyang milk tea! Sa dami ng binibini, nakabingwit ako ng binabai,” the lyrics of the song read.
(When she took off her panties, my eyes went wide. I cursed in surprise. Her milk tea was venti. There were a lot of girls around, but I got a “binabae.”)
“Binabae” is a Tagalog term that refers to a homosexual or effeminate man.
Agassi has been addressing the reviews about the song via his Twitter page, saying he has a “happy ending” based on his performance.
“[It] it was supposed to be a rom-com song, loving all genres, especially the LGBTQ community, which I thought they were [open-minded] and you would understand and appreciate my point since most of them are talented in the entertainment industry,” he said.
“In the music video, they kissed after learning that she is trans. My wife [asked] her trans friend and her friend said it was a fun song and not offensive,” she added.
The actor further noted that “music is art” and that it is “open to interpretation and criticism”, stressing that some are simply making an “issue” with the song.
“Pilit niyo lang na pinalalabas na transphobic, ginagawan ng issue, and nilalait ang kanta. Nagkakampihan, pinagtutulungan, at hinihila pababa,” she stated. “Spread love and support your local artists.”
(You’re just insisting [that the song] he is transphobic, criticizing and making a problem out of it. All of you are coming together to attack me and take me down. Spread love and support your local artists.)
I explained a hundred times that I interpreted that this song has a happy ending. In the music video they kiss after learning that she is trans. My wife asked her trans friend of hers and her friend said it was a fun song and not offensive.

Music is art and all art is open to interpretation and criticism. Pilit niyo lang na pinalalabas na transphobic, ginagawan ng issue, and nilalait ang kanta. Nagkakampihan, pinagtutulungan, in Hinihila pababa. Spread love and support your local artists. Tayo dyan milk tea!🧋💕

Agassi also urged the public to “accept” and “respect” other people’s preferences when it comes to “art.”
Art, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, what may be pleasant for you may not be for them, accept respect, but never force what you want on people, they have the right to choose like you, never step on or hurt anyone with a clear conscience 🧋 https://t.co/LntouJizXc

“Just because you don’t like me doesn’t give you the right to say mean, harsh and hurtful words to me. ‘PAg ginawa sa’yo, sa inyo bastos, kayo na-hurt, ako ba walang feelings? she said herself in a separate tweet. (When they did it to you, they hurt you. Don’t I have feelings too?)
The fact that you don’t like it doesn’t give you the right to say harsh and hurtful bad words to me✌️ pag ginawa sayo, sainyo bastos, kayo na hurt, ako ba walang feelings???🧋 https://t.co/LntouJizXc
