Cardi B’s divorce filing took a new turn this week when her ex-husband Offset appeared to respond.
It was reported on Thursday that the 31-year-old WAP rapper had filed for divorce from the 32-year-old Migos rapper the day before.
But in response to an Instagram post reporting on the performance, Offset responded in an unusual way: by liking the post from his public account.
The seemingly nonchalant response was particularly unusual considering that Cardi indicated in her divorce filing that he is the father of her unborn third child, according to TMZ.
In addition to seemingly confirming the child’s paternity after announcing she was pregnant the same day news of her divorce broke, Cardi shared her custody preferences and is reportedly asking for support from her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Offset’s alleged Instagram like was on a post from the account The talk of the neighborhood which announced the news, along with a quote from a source for Page six.
Shortly after her initial post, the account shared a screenshot that appeared to show that Offset (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus) had liked the post.
So far, the double-tap on Instagram is the extent of their communication regarding Cardi’s divorce filing.
However, on Thursday he posted a video of himself on Instagram Stories that showed him lying in the backseat of a moving vehicle and lip-syncing to an unreleased rap song in which the rapper says he’s “single” and complains that “this tension is old,” via Page Six.
However, it is unclear whether the tune he was singing was one of his own.
In her divorce papers, Cardi reportedly indicated that Offset is the father of her upcoming baby by saying they are expecting their third child together, according to TMZ.
It was previously reported that she is seeking primary custody of her children: daughter Kulture, 5, and son Wave, 2.
The publication also notes that there is no mention of a prenuptial agreement in the document, but that does not rule out the possibility that one exists.
Cardi is also asking that all of the couple’s personal assets be distributed equally.
She filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

So far, the double-tap on Instagram is all he’s communicated about Cardi’s divorce filing. However, an Instagram Stories video from Thursday showed him lip-syncing to an unreleased song in which the rapper says he’s “single” and complains that “this tension is old.”
The filing comes after Offset was dogged by cheating rumors.
On Thursday, he denied in an Instagram Live session that he was “publicly cheating” after he was seen sitting next to a woman who calls herself PrettyRedz at a casino.
“People really need to investigate… I’m in a public place gambling in a casino with a married woman who is eight months pregnant. (What the f***!) I look like I’m out there cheating in public (shaking head!),” he said.
However, his denial caused further confusion as his reference to the pregnant woman led viewers to mistakenly think he was referring to his pregnant wife Cardi, which his rep denied. TMZ On Wednesday.
The gap was one month as PrettyRedz is reportedly seven months pregnant with a child from her marriage to the late Kyng Rocky, who died on June 18.
Rather than splitting up due to cheating, a source claimed to Page Six that Cardi (real name: Belcalis Marlenis Cephus, née Almánzar) and Offset had simply “grown apart” over time, following multiple previous breakups and relationship issues.
“That’s what drove her to make this decision more than anything else,” the source added. “It’s something she wants to do.”
Despite the split, Cardi looked more than happy in gorgeous photos of herself cradling her baby bump that she posted Thursday to announce her pregnancy.

“With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life, and most of all, you have renewed my power!” she wrote without mentioning or even tagging her ex-husband.
“You’ve reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion!” Cardi continued. “I love you so much and I can’t wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier to just accept life’s twists and turns and let the challenges go, but you, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to keep going.”
In addition to his three future children with Cardi, Offset has three older children from previous relationships.
He shares 14-year-old son Jordan Cephus with Oriel Jamie, nine-year-old son Kody Cephus with Justine Watson, and nine-year-old daughter Kalea Mari Cephus with Shya L’amour.
