Cardi B asks judge for lawsuit by signature hunter who claims her guards beat him up after 2018 Met Gala in NYC
She is being sued by an autograph hunter who claims he was beaten up by her security detail after the 2018 Met Gala in NYC.
But in new court documents, Cardi B denies any involvement in the incident and asks a judge to drop the lawsuit against her.
The 28-year-old rapper claims it was signature hunter Giovanni Arnold who initiated the alleged attack in May 2018. TMZ reported Thursday.
Cardi B is asking a judge to file a lawsuit against her by a signature hunter who claims he was beaten up by her security detail after the Met Gala 2018 in NYC.
The incident took place when Cardi and husband Offset left the star-studded event.
A video shot at the time shows the alleged sexual assault, and the bodak Yellow hitmaker claims in her lawsuit that Arnold can be heard on tape verbally assaulting her and Offset after they failed to get their autographs.
According to TMZ, Cardi claims that Arnold can be heard screaming, “Please beat me up. I’ll take all your money. ‘
In his lawsuit, Arnold argues that the three men who attacked him worked for Cardi, but she disputes that.
She claims the men did not work for her and that she did not instruct them to attack Arnold. She claims the signature hunter orchestrated the showdown to get money.
The 28-year-old rapper, pictured at the 2018 Met Gala, has denied any involvement in the incident that took place when she and Offset returned to their hotel after the event.
Offset, pictured at the gala with Migos co-stars Quavo and Takeoff, is also being charged in a separate lawsuit
The video made at the time revealed that Giovanni Arnold was knocked to the ground by three people after trying unsuccessfully to get Cardi B’s signature. He was taken to hospital for treatment. Cardi claims he orchestrated the showdown to get money
At the time of the incident, Cardi was seven months pregnant with her daughter Kulture, who was born in July 2018.
Migos rapper Offset is also being sued by Arnold but in a separate lawsuit.
New York police investigators investigated the alleged attack, but no charges were filed and the case was declared closed in March 2019.
Video obtained by TMZ showed a man being repeatedly kicked and beaten by three security guards outside the Mark Hotel in NYC in the early hours of the morning after trying to get an autograph from the famous couple.
Further video footage showed the victim being transported to the hospital by ambulance at 2.30am, where he was reportedly treated for back and neck pain.
