Troubled times: Cara sparked health fears with her disheveled appearance last year
Cara has since revealed that she checked herself into rehab after seeing the ‘heartbreaking’ footage of herself, which gave her a wake-up call.
Talk to vogue magazine as its April cover star, she confessed that she wasn’t “ready” to tackle her demons until she fell into a “wrong place.”
She explained: “I had interventions of sorts, but I wasn’t ready. This is the problem.
“I hadn’t seen a therapist for three years. I just kind of pushed everyone away, which made me realize how bad a place I was.
And in a more recent interview, Cara spoke to ELLE UK about girlfriend Minke and being sober.
The runway star appeared on the cover of the September issue looking amazing in a black bra under a matching cardigan.
She shared a few rare comments about her relationship, gushing over Minke, whose real name is Leah Mason.

“Being with my girlfriend, in this relationship, there are so many things that happened at once that made me so happy and comfortable with who I am.”
Cara and Minke have kept a low profile since confirming their budding romance last year.
The model, who came out pansexual in 2020, opened up about her sexuality during a separate interview with Vogue in August last year.
“It was more than I just decided to put my cards on the table and say look, I’m in love, I’m in love with who I’m in love with,” she said of “going out.”
“I was done being ashamed of who I loved and who I was. So for me, it was more just being like, love is love, and we should be able to love whoever we want.
Cara also opened up about her journey to sobriety and how the lifestyle change impacted her.
She admitted: “It hasn’t been easy), but there’s never been a time when I was like, ‘It’s not worth it. It was worth every second. I don’t know what it would take to give it up. I am stable. I am calmer.
She continued, “Before, I didn’t trust myself. I constantly questioned myself. There was a lot of anxiety. Now I feel free from that.
Cara added that speaking publicly about her struggles was also very freeing, as she felt like a weight had been lifted.
She said: “For a long time I felt like I was hiding a lot from people who looked up to me. I finally feel that I can be free and myself, fully.
