BREAKING: Emergency services perform CPR on countless children after a car ran off the road, turned over and crashed into a dam in Queensland

An emergency operation is underway after a car carrying six people crashed into a dam in Queensland.

At least two children are in critical condition following the crash of Beaudesert Boonah Rouad in Wyaralong, southeast Queensland, at approximately 2:00 p.m.

First responders took the car with people off the dam on Sunday afternoon after it ran off the road.

Divers are on their way to the site.

Three rescue helicopters have also been deployed, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed.

A police car on its way to the crime scene crashed and rolled over shortly afterwards.

The officers involved sustained minor injuries.

Drivers have been warned to look for another route at Wyaralong with the road closed in both directions.

More to come.
