The Vancouver Canucks announced that Brock Boeser would not return for their game against the LA Kings. Boeser took a dirty and dangerous hit to the head from Tanner Jeannot, resulting in the Kings forward receiving a match penalty. As a result, Vancouver had a five-minute power play, with Conor Garland scoring to tie the game at one.

It would be shocking if Jeannot wasn’t suspended for this hit. According to the NHL rule book, “A match penalty shall be assessed to any player who deliberately attempts to injure or deliberately injures an opponent in any way.” Tomorrow there will be more information about a possible suspension of Jeannot.
