Modest candy store becomes center of viral ‘Jelly Fruit challenge’ on TikTok while THOUSANDS of teenagers come to the store to try it

Employees of a modest candy store were surprised when their store became the center of a viral TikTok challenge.
Candyland, located at the Harbourtown shopping center in Gold Coast, imports Zing Jelly Fruits, a liquid lollipop packed in a plastic container.
The challenge is to bite on the plastic without the lolly exploding.
Candyland store assistant Erica said thousands of teenagers came to the store to try the challenge.

“We’re watching it,” she said.
“We sell out very quickly and get them back in stock quickly.”

She said the challenge caught their attention almost three months ago when they noticed that demand was increasing dramatically.
Candyland marketing manager Jade Wood said they were enthusiastic about the publicity, despite the challenge that caused a lot of junk.
“Children gather in large numbers to get hold of the Jelly Fruits that we import,” she said Gold Coast Bulletin.
‘We sold nearly 1000 jelly last week, which is crazy.
“People have gone crazy online and have even completed and documented the challenges in the store, which was great fun for all of us, although a bit messy.”
The store encourages everyone to take up the challenge and has since created their own TikTok account.
The #jellyfruitchallenge offers more than 2.9 million views on the popular app.
