Candace Cameron Bure’s family is mourning the death of her father-in-law, Vladimir Bure.
The actress announced the sad news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, September 4, where she confessed: ‘Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of Val’s father, Vladimir Bure.’
The cover photo shows Vladimir, who was 73 when he passed away, between his two sons, Cameron Bure’s husband Valeri Bure and Pavel Bure, who went on to become world-class hockey stars in both the National Hockey League (NHL) and their native Russia.
‘To me, he represented not only the gift of life (my husband) for which I am eternally grateful, but also the gift of strength, dedication, motivation, resilience, willpower and love, Full house The 48-year-old student continued her tribute.
“In my mind, he was the epitome of each of those words, a little bit superhuman somehow,” she wrote.

Candace Bure would go on to highlight some of her many professional accomplishments throughout her life.
“Vladimir was a four-time Olympic medalist in swimming and two-time Stanley Cup winner as coach of the New Jersey Devils,” he wrote alongside some photos of Vladimir alone, including during one of his swimming competitions, and the NHL image remembering him.
Originally from Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russian SFSR, USSR, he was a freestyle swimmer who competed for the Soviet Union at the 1968, 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games and won four medals: one in the 100 m individual medley and three in the relay.
Bure was also a two-time European champion and a 17-time Soviet champion, and also won two silver medals at the World Championships in 1973 and 1975.
To commemorate his many exploits in the water, there is also an old black and white photograph of Vladimir celebrating in the pool after a race.
He was also a world-class fitness trainer, as mentioned above, working for those two championship teams with the New Jersey Devils.
In order to improve his sons’ opportunities, Vladimir and his boys moved from their native Russia in 1991 to Los Angeles, where he continued to coach and prepare them for hockey as well as their physical conditioning.
All that hard work paid off in a big way, as Pavel, 53, played three years with the Central Red Army, and then 12 seasons in the NHL, playing for the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers and New York Rangers after three years with the Central Red Army.
The actress shared a photo of Vladimir Bure between her two sons, Valeri and Pavel, both world-class hockey players who played for many years in the NHL.
Cameron Bure described her father-in-law as “a little bit superhuman” in her tribute.
“I loved this man so much,” the Full House alum wrote of her father-in-law.
To commemorate his many achievements as a swimmer, there is also an old black and white photo of Vladimir celebrating in the pool after a race.
Vladimir Bure, a Russian native who moved to North America in 1991, was an Olympic swimmer and two-time NHL Stanley Cup champion as well as a fitness trainer for the New Jersey Devils.

Valeri, 50, went on to play 10 seasons in the NHL, with the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars.
Along with photos from their younger days, the Fuller House star also included two photos of her sharing sweet moments with Vladimir, one of which shows them hugging each other.
“He was a proud and dedicated father, grandfather, husband and coach. But most of all, I know how much he loved his family,” Cameron Bure concluded. “Thank you for praying for the entire Bure family as we grieve. We love you, Vladimir, and you will always be in our hearts.”

Candace Cameron Bure pays tribute to her late father-in-law, Vladimir Bure.
Candace, 48, announced the death of her husband Valeri Bure’s father in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Sept. 4. According to the NHL, Bure died on Tuesday, Sept. 3. He was 73 years old.
Her post included an old photo of Vladimir with their two sons, Pavel Bure and Valeri, to whom Candace has been married for 28 years.
“Our hearts are broken over the loss of Val’s father, Vladimir Bure. I loved this man so much. To me, he represented not only the gift of life (my husband) for which I am forever grateful, but also a gift of strength, dedication, motivation, resilience, willpower, and love. In my mind, he was the epitome of each of those words, a little bit superhuman in some way,” she wrote.
Candance continued to highlight Vladimir’s notable achievements. “Vladimir was a four-time Olympic medalist in swimming and coach of the New Jersey Devils who won the Stanley Cup twice,” she wrote alongside a few photos of Vladimir alone, including one from one of his swimming competitions and the NHL picture remembering him.
Vladimir was a four-time Olympic medalist in swimming, winning one at the 1968 Mexico City Games and three more at the 1972 Munich Games. He was also a fitness consultant for the New Jersey Devils from 1999 to 2010. During his tenure, the team won the Stanley Cup in 2000 and 2003.
Along with photos from their younger years, the Fuller House star included two photos with her father-in-law. One was a sweet photo of them hugging, while the other showed them dancing.
“He was a dedicated and proud father, grandfather, husband, and coach. But most of all, I know how much he loved his family. Thank you for praying for the entire Bure family as we grieve ��������. We love you Vladimir and you will always be in our hearts,” Candace concluded.
Several people expressed their condolences to the Bure family in Candace’s comments section, including the Great American Family Network account.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your father-in-law, Candace,” the comment read. “Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. We wish you strength, comfort and peace as you go through this loss.”

Candace and Valeri’s daughter, Natasha Valerievna, 26, also paid tribute to her late grandfather in her Instagram Stories on Sept. 4.
“My amazing Dedushka rest in peace. I love you infinitely and for giving me my daddy,” she wrote on top of the same photo that Candance posted of Valeri and Vladimir. “Dedushka” is the Russian word for “grandfather.”
Candace and Valeri are also parents to sons Lev, 24, and Maksim, 22.
